Day to night makeup

81.jpg

Nighttime renders day makeup bland. That doesn’t mean you have to remove everything and go through the whole process of putting on color from the foundation up for a night out. Transforming day makeup to night isn’t tedious. Here’s what you do.

Eyes should be striking and more defined. The easiest way to achieve this is through eyeliner. Pencil in eyeliner on your bottom eyelid and smudge with a smudger or a Q tip. If you have liquid liner, much better. Next, carefully put on mascara, coating eyelashes and simultaneously curling them out. Then wipe off your lipstick with tissue and glide on a darker, glossy shade for your lips. Or just for contrast, nude lipstick will make your smoky eyes stand out more.

Versatile neckwear

As any jet-setting beauty queen would know, the rigors of international travel require a luggage policy of packing as light as possible. After all, having trouble lifting a suitcase off the conveyor belt upon arrival at the airport shows less poise than is expected from a title holder. So one’s accessories must also be harder-working pieces that can be used in a variety of ways. One such example is the convertible necklace. Some types can be very long strands that can be folded twice or even thrice, or broken apart into a choker, a bracelet and a pendant. These are smart and practical accessories bring overseas.

Heaven in heels

2374857504_e479ae7bd9_m.jpg

Every girl needs the confidence to stand tall, regardless of her height. Heels were invented not so much to put us in agony but to force us to be conscious of our posture, elongate our legs, and walk like ladies–except that sometimes the pain outweighs the positives. Wearing stilettos for the whole day shouldn’t leave you with a wobbly walk by the Cinderella hour. There are gel heel cups and insoles that massage the soles and lessen impact. And you can use corn cushions or adhesive bandages to prevent blisters from forming in high-friction areas when you have no option but to wear shoes that rub against your feet and legs.

The lashes have it

1047966153_3c9027570e_m.jpg

What’s a beauty queen without defined, expressive eyes? Whether it’s a formal affair or a lunch date, every girl has to open up her eyes with eyelash curler. Makeup artists swear by Shu Uemera eyelash curler, though it is more expensive than other brands. For dressier events, mascara is de rigeur. And if when time for your closeup, falsies come in handy. It takes a bit of practice to put them on, so if you’re no expert, trim one end of the false eyelash to make it less tricky to glue to your lashes. Then touch them up with mascara and you’ll have long, camera-ready lashes in no time.
