REMOVING BLACKHEADS

Blackheads are tiny black pinpoints on the face, upper arms and shoulders.
The best way to deal with blackheads is to prevent them. Make sure that your skin is clean. Cleansing removes dead skin cells and excess oils which are the primary ingredients of blackhead. Women with oily skin use powder and makeup to prevent their faces from being shiny. But girls, make sure that you do not let the powder does not build up and wash your face often. Avoid creamy and greasy makeup products because it can block the pores.
When washing the face, we must avoid using the bar of soap near the sink because it contains ingredients that can clog the pores. Instead, use gentle exfoliant because they do not only remove the dead skin on the surface but the also clean the pores.
To prevent blackheads, the key is to keep your face clean.

Sunscreen

sunscreen.jpg

Sure, you see beauty queens with their beautiful skin glowing romping on many of the world’s famous beaches. But like “ordinary” women, beauty queens are human with human skin.

Too much exposure to the sun’s intense rays can be very damaging to (especially fair) skin, and beauty queens are more prone to this as they may be required to stay under the sun for long periods of time during photo shoots.

The best way to alleviate, if not totally prevent skin damage is by applying a good dose of sunscreen. It should have a minimum SPF (sun protection factor) rating of 15 to prevent very nasty sun burns and other skin damages. For best results, apply sunscreen at least 20 minutes before going outside. This is to give the active ingredients in the formula a chance to be absorbed.

Creamy milk bath

milk-bath.jpg

This tip goes back way to Ancient Egypt since Queen Cleopatra herself used it to maintain her skin smooth and milky operative word is milk.

Yes, nothing works better on skin as milk. According to beauty researchers, milk does wonders to human skin. The lactic acid in milk keeps the skin clean and fresh by cleansing it down to the deepest layers. If you are lactose intolerant or if you are allergic to milk, you can skip this tip.

So all you have to do is to treat yourself to a milk bath about once a week or once in every two weeks (well, you can do it more often if you have the time). Just add 2 to 4 cups of fresh milk or buttermilk to your warm bathwater while the tub is filling. Soak in the tub for 15 to 20 minutes. Rub your skin gently with a pumice or washcloth to get rid of the dead skin. Rinse off thoroughly after.

Airbrush tan

tan.jpg

Its no secret that sun can be damaging to the skin and sun tanning can be inconvenient. Beauty queens, models, and actresses who wish to look golden and good in swimsuits mostly opt to make avail of airbrush tanning services. Prices vary by stores so ask around and compare prices. And to be on the safe sound, ask for references and pictures.

Here are some tips on airbrush tan application and care:

Before getting a tan, shower and clean your skin thoroughly. Better to exfoliate so that dead skin cells can be removed. This will assure a more even application.

Chemicals can affect the tanning solution so do not apply lotion, perfume, deodorant, and make-up before your session.

Wear a bathing suit is encouraged. You may opt for a bikini bottom to avoid getting strap marks.

Moisturize your skin daily after application to maintain that golden glow!

Ask the tanning salon for other details for tips on skin care and future appointments.

Steam your face

steam.jpg

There is an easy way to rejuvenate and cleanse your skin without going to an expensive facial clinic or a spa, and that is giving your face a good steaming. Not only does it deep clean your pores by loosening dirt and other debris embedded into the skin, but it also softens and rejuvenates the skin. This easy at-home facial can be done once a week.

First boil a pan of clean water with a handful of dry or fresh-from-the-garden herbs such as thyme, peppermint, and lemon (for oily skin), lime and chamomile (for dry skin), rosemary and lavender (for normal skin), or a combination of any other herbs. Herbal tea bags can also be used as substitute.

Next, transfer water to a clean heat-resistant bowl. Close your eyes and place your face above the bowl, just low enough for the steam to reach your skin. Get a large towel. Holding its edges with your hands, place the towel above your head, making sure that it can also enclose the bowl, trapping the steam. Steam your face for approximately ten to fifteen minutes.

Get a cotton pad and wipe your face, gently rubbing the dirt away. Splash cold or iced water afterwards to lock the pores.

Note: Research on herbs and spices about their healing properties for variations.
